This picture
shows the new Quad Air XP plus double pumper with hanger and sender on
the left. A first generation XP pump mounted in the original Buick hanger
is on the right.
The primary pump, within the double pumper, is powered through a 10 Ga wire connected directly to the alternator output using a relay to control the power. The relay, mounted in the trunk, is controlled by the original fuel pump circuit. The secondary pump is mounted parallel to the first pump to provide extra fuel flow when it is needed. The power is provided through a 10 Ga. wire also. Although, the secondary pump has a pressure switch that turns the pump on at a predetermined intake manifold pressure level. |
