My Beef Jerky Recipe!!! |
Here's my beef jerky recipe. Nothing fancy but delicious jerky. My recipe started with tips from a coworker and a little trial and error. The following table lists the ingredients I use. |
|
|
beef round top round steak London broil | 2 to 4 lbs. |
Adolph's For the Grill Spicy Cajun Marinade | 1 oz. packet |
American Harvest Original Beef Jerky Spice | ½ packet |
dried habanero pepper | 1 tsp. |
dried cayenne pepper | 1 tsb. (~2 pepper) |
ground black pepper | just a little |
salt | just a little |
hot sauce (any of the following mild sauces):
Dave's Gourmet Insanity or Total Insanity Blair's Sudden Death or After Death |
few dabs, just enough to initiate perspiration and/or running nose, or to enjoy again while going out |
Cut the meat in approximately ¼" thick slices. Prepare the marinade adding the Jerky Spice, dried peppers, and hot sauce. Use 1 cup of water for the mix. Place the meat in a flat container. Pour the marinade over the meat. Mix things up a little so the meat is completely coated. Use a fork to mix and pierce the meat. Marinade from 4 to 8 hours. Next, lay the meat in the trays of a dehydrator. Sprinkle some salt and black pepper on the meat. The drying process should take about 15 hours with most of the dehydrators that are available from your local large volume retailer. Place the finished jerky in the refrigerator, at least, the portion that is not consumed immediately. |
